1. Terms acceptance and effective date

By accessing or using BuyCanadianFirst (BCF), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and any applicable policies linked from them. If you do not agree, do not use BCF.

2. About BuyCanadianFirst and directory scope

BuyCanadianFirst (BCF) is a Canadian-focused business discovery and directory platform operated by an individual based in Malaysia.

BCF does not currently operate through a company incorporated in Canada.

BCF helps people find and review available information about businesses by category and location. BCF is not a government registry, certification authority, or accreditation body. A listing is not a certification, inspection, endorsement, or guarantee.

BCF may publish a basic, unclaimed listing based on an approved source. An unclaimed listing does not imply anything negative about the business.

3. Eligibility, accounts, registration and login

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms to use BCF. If you create or use an account, you must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge, keep login details confidential, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, subject to applicable law.

BCF may require account registration for particular features.

4. Business listings

Listings may include business names, categories, locations, contact details, descriptions, images, status labels, and other information received through approved, permitted, owner-submitted, public, partner, or otherwise authorized sources and processes. Listing inclusion does not itself establish Canadian ownership, Canadian registration, Made in Canada status, manufacturing location, or BCF verification.

5. Unclaimed listings

An unclaimed listing is a listing for which no approved representative has been granted owner-management access. An unclaimed listing does not imply that the business is inactive, illegitimate, untrustworthy, unwilling to participate, or otherwise subject to a negative finding.

6. Business claims and claimant authority

An individual may request to claim a listing if they are authorized to represent the business. BCF may request information needed to assess that request. CLAIMED / OWNER-MANAGED means only that an approved representative can manage permitted listing information through the available BCF process.

Claim approval does not establish Canadian ownership, Canadian registration, Made in Canada status, manufacturing location, or BCF verification. A claim is not proof of ownership, origin, certification, or accreditation.

7. Owner-managed content and responsibilities

An approved representative is responsible for information they submit or manage, including keeping it accurate, lawful, current, and appropriately supported. Representatives must not impersonate another person or business, submit misleading material, misuse personal information, or claim a trust status that the available evidence does not support.

Owner-management access does not transfer ownership of BCF, its platform, or its intellectual property.

8. User-submitted information

When you submit information, images, corrections, reports, or other material, you must have the right and authority to provide it. You keep your rights in material you submit. You must not submit unlawful, defamatory, deceptive, infringing, abusive, malicious, or privacy-invasive material. You grant BCF a non-exclusive licence, limited to what BCF reasonably needs to receive, store, review, reproduce, format, display, and operate the material in connection with BCF, subject to applicable law and any stated policy. This licence does not transfer ownership of your material to BCF.

9. Corrections and removal requests

Users and representatives may request correction or removal of listing information through the available BCF process. Requests may be reviewed against available evidence, source information, authorization, and legal requirements. A request is not automatically accepted, and BCF may retain records needed for safety, integrity, dispute handling, or legal compliance.

10. Accuracy, completeness and data provenance

BCF does not guarantee that every listing or item of information is complete, current, accurate, available, or error-free. Information may come from business representatives, users, public sources, partner sources, or other approved sources.

Missing evidence must not be represented as a negative factual status. The absence of a fact, document, signal, or source does not by itself prove that the underlying condition is false.

11. Trust and verification distinctions

BCF may display available evidence, status labels, or trust-related attributes. These are limited to what the relevant evidence and BCF process support. BCF is not a government registry, certification authority, or accreditation body, and listing or claim status is not BCF verification.

The following concepts remain separate: a listing, a claim, management access, a source record, a trust attribute, and any evidence associated with an attribute.

12. Canadian location, registration, ownership and product-origin distinctions

BCF may record or display separate public labels, including:

• Canadian location: information indicates a location in Canada.
• Canadian registration: information supports a Canadian registration attribute.
• Canadian ownership: information supports an ownership attribute.
• Made in Canada: information supports a product-origin attribute.
• Manufactures in Canada: information supports a manufacturing-location attribute.

One status does not imply another. A Canadian location does not establish Canadian registration or ownership. Registration does not establish ownership, product origin, or manufacturing location. Canadian ownership does not establish Made in Canada status or manufacturing in Canada. A Made in Canada status does not establish that every product is made in Canada. None of these attributes is established merely by listing inclusion or claim approval.

13. Acceptable and prohibited use

You may use BCF for lawful business discovery and related informational purposes. You must not misuse the service; use automated activity that violates law or stated restrictions, bypasses access controls, materially interferes with or overloads BCF, or harms service integrity; impersonate a person or business; submit malicious code; manipulate status or evidence; infringe rights; or use BCF to facilitate fraud, harassment, discrimination, or unlawful activity. Ordinary search-engine indexing or crawling that respects applicable technical controls and policies is not prohibited by this section.

14. Intellectual property

BCF and its content, software, design, trademarks, compilation, and branding may be protected by intellectual-property laws. Except as permitted by law or by BCF, you may not make unauthorized extraction, copying, reproduction, redistribution, or systematic reuse of BCF-protected content, compilation, design, or other protected material, or adapt, publish, sell, or reverse engineer it. This does not mean BCF owns underlying public business facts merely because they appear in the directory. You retain rights you have in material you submit, subject to the limited licence in these Terms.

15. Third-party websites and services

BCF may link to or rely on third-party websites, services, maps, data providers, authentication tools, or other resources. Third-party services are controlled by their providers and may have separate terms and privacy practices. BCF is not responsible for third-party availability, content, security, or practices except to the extent required by law.

16. No endorsement

Listing, ranking, category placement, claim status, owner-management access, source reference, or display on BCF is not an endorsement, recommendation, certification, accreditation, or guarantee of a business, person, product, service, ownership, registration, origin, manufacturing location, safety, quality, or performance.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, BCF and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. BCF does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that all information will always be complete, current, accurate, suitable, secure, or error-free.

18. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, BCF is not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on directory information, dealings with listed businesses, third-party services, or temporary inability to access BCF, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

19. Indemnity

You are responsible for your unlawful use of BCF, material you submit, and material breaches of these Terms. Any indemnity obligations are subject to applicable law.

20. Suspension and termination

BCF may restrict, suspend, or end access to features or accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, service integrity, suspected misuse, breach of these Terms, legal compliance, or operational reasons. Users may stop using BCF at any time. Independently sourced directory records remain distinct from account and claim management. Ending an account or owner-management access does not itself remove an independently sourced directory record. Correction or removal requests continue through the applicable BCF process.

21. Changes to these Terms

BCF may update these Terms as the service or applicable requirements change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page.
